Who Is Lifeline?
Lifeline is a church that believes in making the Bible relevant and easy to understand for everyone. Through video, drama and music our church illustrates practical biblical messages that can be applied in day to day living.
What Does
Lifeline Believe?
At Lifeline, our faith is grounded in the Word of God. The following beliefs reflect our understanding of Scripture and guide our faith, our lives, and our ministry.
1. We Believe in God the Father
We believe in one God, revealed in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. This is known as the Trinity, or God the Three in One (Matthew 3:16–17; 28:19).
God is:
- Creator: He created the entire universe, humanity, and all other living creatures (Genesis 1).
- Omnipotent: He is all-powerful and Almighty (Genesis 17:1; Jeremiah 32:17–18, 27).
- Omnipresent: He is present everywhere at once (Psalm 139:7–10).
- Omniscient: He knows all things, and nothing is hidden from Him (Psalm 139:1–6; Hebrews 4:13).
- Eternal: He has neither beginning nor end. All things derive from Him (Deuteronomy 33:27; Psalm 90:2; Habakkuk 1:12).
- Loving and Merciful: He loves all His creation (John 3:16; 1 John 4:8, 12).
- Holy and Just: God is perfectly holy and just. Although sin must be judged, He has made a way for those who repent to receive forgiveness (Genesis 18:25; Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 89:14; Exodus 34:5–7).
- Because God is all-wise and loving, we believe we should submit our wills to Him and trust Him completely (Job 13:15; Psalm 37:3, 5; 2 Corinthians 1:9; 2 Timothy 1:12).
2. We Believe in Jesus Christ, God's Son
We believe Jesus Christ is God, one with the Father and the Holy Spirit. All that is true of the Father is also true of the Son (John 1:1–3).
For the redemption of humanity, Jesus became human and:
- Was born of a virgin: He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary (Matthew 1:18–21; Luke 1:26–35).
- Lived a sinless life: He shared our humanity but was without sin (John 8:46; Hebrews 4:15; 7:26–28).
- Died for our salvation: Of His own free will, Jesus gave His life on the cross as our substitute, dying for our sins (Romans 5:6–8; 1 Peter 2:24; 3:18).
- Rose from the dead: On the third day, He rose from the grave and appeared to more than 500 witnesses (Matthew 28:5–6; Mark 16:6; Luke 24:5–6; John 20; Acts 2:22–24; 1 Corinthians 15:1–9).
- Ascended into heaven: Forty days later, He ascended to heaven in the presence of believers and now sits at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us (Luke 24:50–51; Acts 1:9–11; 7:56; Hebrews 4:14–16).
We believe in the second coming of Jesus Christ.
His coming will occur in two phases. First, He will come to take the Church to be with Him in heaven (John 14:1–3; 1 Thessalonians 4:14–17; 1 John 3:1–3). Second, He will return to judge the nations and establish His 1,000-year millennial kingdom. We therefore believe in the premillennial return of Christ (Matthew 25:31–46; Revelation 20:1–6).
Finally, Jesus will judge all humanity and all fallen spirits at the end of time (John 5:22–29; Revelation 20:7–15).
3. We Believe in the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is one with the Father and the Son. He is a divine person, not merely an influence or force (John 16:13–14).
The Holy Spirit:
- Convicts people of sin (John 16:7–11).
- Works in the conversion and regeneration of those who repent (John 3:5–6).
- Sanctifies the lives of believers (Acts 15:8–9).
- Dwells within believers, providing comfort, help, counsel, and the ability to live victoriously (John 14:16–17; Acts 9:31).
- Magnifies Christ in the vision and life of the Christian (John 16:13–15).
4. We Believe the Bible Is Our Only Rule of Faith and Practice
We believe the Bible is the sufficient and final authority for our faith and practice. It is the inspired Word of God, written by holy men who were moved by the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21).
We believe the Bible is an infallible guide and entirely accurate in every detail, especially in its original Hebrew and Greek languages. The Scriptures have been preserved by the Holy Spirit and serve as our authority and final appeal in matters of faith and life (Psalm 119:105, 130; Isaiah 8:20; 2 Timothy 2:15; 3:15–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21).
We believe the faithful, prayerful, and clear preaching of God's Word allows the Holy Spirit to draw people to God and guide Christians in their daily lives.
Rather than placing additional rules and regulations on our people beyond the Bible itself, we trust in the faithful preaching of Scripture, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and the conscience of each individual Christian. Our Constitution and Bylaws are intended to govern the business and ministry of the church.
5. We Believe in Salvation
We believe all people are sinners by nature and have fallen short of God's glory.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23
Although humanity is sinful, God loves us. He demonstrated His love by giving His Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem us and provide salvation from sin (John 3:16).
The Bible identifies two essential responses through which we receive God's forgiveness:
1. Repentance
Repentance is godly sorrow for sin and a desire to turn away from sin toward righteousness. It may also include making restitution when God reveals something that can and should be restored (Acts 17:30; 2 Peter 3:9).
2. Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
Faith is trusting in the merits of Jesus Christ and believing that God forgives the repentant sinner for Christ's sake. Receiving Christ and believing in His name are connected with becoming a child of God (John 1:12–13).
We understand salvation to include three parts on the human side: regeneration, sanctification, and glorification in heaven.
6. We Believe in Regeneration (The New Birth)
We believe regeneration, or the new birth, is the work of God through which we become His children in response to faith.
Through regeneration, we receive new life and are raised from spiritual death caused by sin (Ephesians 2:1, 5). God pardons our sins and enables us to live righteous lives, even when our past has been marked by sin.
At the same time, the Holy Spirit bears witness that we are now children of God (John 3:1–8; Romans 8:15–16).
7. We Believe in Sanctification
We believe entire sanctification is a second, definite work of God's grace. Through this work, the heart of a child of God is cleansed from what is known as original sin and filled with the Holy Spirit (1 Thessalonians 5:23).
Sanctification means being separated from sin and set apart for God.
When we are regenerated, God gives us power to turn away from our past practices of sin. This growth may occur gradually as God gives us greater understanding and light. In entire sanctification, we believe God cleanses the heart from all sin immediately, as a second work of grace (1 John 1:7).
We believe that while Christians may sin, sin is not a necessity. We do not become infallible, just as Adam was not infallible when God created him, even though he was perfect.
God calls us to holiness and sanctification (1 Peter 1:16–17; 1 Thessalonians 4:3, 7–8). We believe the conditions for receiving this grace include:
1. Complete Consecration to God's Will
We must fully surrender ourselves to God's will and make ourselves available to Him (Romans 6:13; 12:1–2). We must be willing to be sanctified, seeking to purify ourselves before Him (1 John 3:3).
2. Faith
We receive this work of grace through faith. Peter explains that God purified the hearts of those who received the Holy Spirit by faith (Acts 15:8–9). Jesus also spoke of an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Him (Acts 26:17–18; Hebrews 13:12).

Lifeline is connected with Christ in Christian Union. The mission of Christ in Christian Union is to preach and teach the gospel of Christ for the purpose of: World Evangelization, Discipling Believers, Promoting Scriptural Holiness and Establishing Churches and Ministries which reflect the spirit and practice of the New Testament Church.

We know a first time visit anywhere can be intimidating and that is why we strive to make everyone feel welcomed at our church. Here is a list of Frequently Asked Questions you might have that can help you feel more comfortable on your first visit.
When Is Service?
Sunday morning services are held on Sunday mornings at 9:15 am and 11:00 am in our sanctuary in Madison, Ohio. Casual bible studies are held on Wednesdays at 6:45 pm in the Sanctuary.
What Should I Wear?
We are so excited you are joining us we want you to feel comfortable so dress casual and come as you are. Some still like to put on their Sunday best, and that's fine too because we want you to belong no matter how you dress.
Where Should I Park?
For your convenience the church provides parking attendances that will direct you as to where to park.
Where Do My Children Go?
Here at our church we enjoy making children feel right as home that is why we provide a relaxed and fun classroom setting for them to enjoy their time as well while under adult supervision. At Lifeline classes are available from Nursery to the 5th grade. The greeter at the door can help direct you to which classroom for your child/children.
Am I Expected To Put Money In The Offering?
If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by.
